America, your time is running out
Come November 4th, the world will know whether Americans are the leaders of the free world. Fool me once the saying goes; I get it. You made a mistake last time ‘round, we won’t hold it against you. But if you re-elect Donald Trump as your president, there is no coming back from that. The entire western world will fundamentally disown America as its leader. You might as well reinstate slavery.
Four years ago, the world watched as you voted Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States. Voting for a man known to be a bigot, philanderer, crook, and narcissist told us you have your values messed up. Barack Obama wasn’t perfect, but he upheld the values that make America great. Not just for the one percent but everyone. And he made American values an inspiration for all of us.
I remember waking up the day after the election in 2016 as my wife asked me who I thought had won. After I made a face that indicated in no unsure terms that I thought the question was preposterous, knowing full well that Hillary Clinton would win by a landslide, my heart sank when she told me the results. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that this was a moment the world would not forget. Little did I know that it’s all the world has talked about ever since. I imagine my father must have felt the same way when he learned that John F. Kennedy had been assassinated.
